2026 @coasttocoastnz . It probably hurts this much every time, I can never remember exactly. Enough to be sure I left it all out there again. My training block started pretty rough but ended surprisingly well which had me lined up ready to race at the front again. Patience was key on the run and then it was a case of just hanging in there till the end. Incredible performances from so many but a shout out to @hamish_elliottnz for getting his name well and truly engraved in the trophy again, absolute top class. Thank you very much to everyone that cheered me on out there and from afar, it is meaningful and I'm so lucky to have your support (still!). The Katana. Thanks Len for this beauty! Performs like nothing else on the Waimakariri. This will be its first C2C, and it can't wait. Freshly wrapped by @signmeupsigns This rig is ready to rock. Thanks @hubcycles for the final tune up. Legends. Still recovering from last weekend! Two days of digging deep with the @valley.ultra 24k run on Saturday then the @topsportkayaking 70km Waimakariri Classic River kayak race on Sunday. An opportunity to see where the body is at, test the systems and play with tactics. Love it. Yep, back again. Can't help myself. In 10 weeks time I'll be on the startline of the @coasttocoastnz 1-day event. There's no doubt my headspace isn't quite the same it was pre 2023 but there's no questions I'm still training thoroughly and I'll be racing hard on the day. Looking forward to it. The Kathmandu Coast to Coast School Academy helps young people get into multisport. These boys from Darfield High School are definitely setting themselves up well and on their way for a great weekend at the 2026 race. I had the honour to work with them for a few coaching days in the past month and pass on some of my experience to them. Doing Kathmandu Coast to Coast 2026? Get your hands on my 15 week training plan through to race day. Kick off is in 1.5 weeks- 29th October. It suits anyone who is not keen to commit to a coach and wants to save on $$. It does come with plenty of supporting resources and a community group that will help you have a successful day. I also help keep you on track with a monthly Facebook live Q&A. Tibet is not a place I imagined myself visiting any time in the near future. Late at night, 5th of September I was notified about a spot on a team at the Tibet/Xizang Challenge, the next day I was fortunate to be chosen along with Sam Clark @gosammyclark , @seemueller_julian87 and @viktoriia_zarina. Fast forward to 30 days later and I was in Lhasa, Tibet at 3600m altitude preparing for the 4-Day road bike race to Mount Everest Base Camp. 3600m was noticeable on the head and lungs, yet this was the lowest altitude we would be all week! Topping out at 5250m. The race was mixed with highs and lows but without a doubt one of the coolest experiences. They are looking for more people to participate in next year's event, if you think you are up for this extreme challenge, send me a message and I'll pass on the details. Thanks @vaudesport for the fantastic gear, perfect for the tough conditions we were riding in. China Outdoor Sports Open aka Wulong Mountain Quest done ✅. After 4 days and over 16 hours of high intensity racing our team finished 2nd overall. Some tough racing here always but in the most spectacular area. This placing would never be possible without awesome teammates, a pleasure to race with Deb Lynch @debby.lynch for the first time too. Thanks @gosammyclark and @alexhunt91 for another epic adventure in China paradise. It was special to see a Chinese team win the overall this year, they have put in an incredible amount of work into improving each year and finally have done it 🎉. They have requested more foreign teams next year so save September dates for next year if you are keen!
