about sam

Sam Manson Coaching (SMC) officially began in 2017. I provide 1:1 coaching (very limited) and write specialized programs for running, cycling, kayaking and multisport. I also provide technique sessions: Running and Kayaking. Particularly specializing in technical running skills, flat water kayaking forward paddle stroke and moving water/river kayak skills. Physical education, training and coaching has been a passion since my high school years. I have also competed as an elite endurance athlete since 2013, been in the top 10 of the Coast to Coast race 10x and won the race in 2023. My knowledge comes from 13 years experience, ENDURE IQ Courses, TrainingPeaks University, support from other coaches, consultations with professionals, Tai Poutini Polytechnic Diploma in Outdoor Instruction and Guiding, NZOIA qualifications, Cycling NZ and CRNZ courses and research through reading.
